  • Also refer to the “Tariffs” and “Discharge” sections below, for more information on prepayment and payment procedures.

Discharge

Prior to leaving the hospital please ensure that your invoices are all signed, if a medical aid patient, or paid in full if you are a private patient.

Please note that after being discharged you may receive several other invoices, related to ancillary services (pathology or radiology), as well as from your doctor. This is due to the fact that they work on different systems to the hospital, and the doctors are in private practice and therefore their fees are separate from the hospital fees.

Please, do not forget to collect your medication and x-rays.

Day patients undergoing surgery under anaesthetic should arrange for transport from hospital - it is illegal to drive for 24 hours following the administration of an anaesthetic.

Service monitoring

In keeping with our goal to continue providing high quality care; we monitor our service to patients on an ongoing basis. On discharge patients are asked to complete a questionnaire regarding their stay at the hospital. Participation is voluntary, but this will assist the hospital management to address any problems and improve our service to you.

We especially welcome any suggestions our patients may have. If you have any suggestions for us, please send us an e-mail at Tonic.Rindo@lifehealthcare.co.za.
